The next thing I know, a dog was brought in and made to lay down in the middle of this gathering of artists. We were instructed to use the canine as a model. In my head I was thinking, ‚ÄúGood grief, I‚Äôve never sculpted a dog! I‚Äôm out of my wheelhouse.‚Äù All of the artists diligently began their works of art. We were all on display for the public to witness our artistic talents‚Ķ.I sat a bit stumped. ‚ÄòOf a sudden, I began to do one of the things I do best‚Ķ.a sculpture of a small head. About 30 minutes into the exercise, one of the observing public chimed up, ‚ÄúScott‚Äôs not sculpting a dog!‚Äù I was a bit chagrined, when my wife, Janette, quickly spoke up and pulled my fanny out of the fire, ‚ÄúHe‚Äôs sculpting a dog, a dirty dog!‚Äù Her words gave me the inspiration to put ‚Äòcharacter‚Äô into the piece and finish it. Thus ‚ÄúA Dirty Dog‚Äù was born.
