About the artist
βI love when art truly reflects the heart of the artist. The result will be a unique representation as we all see and observe life diο¬erently."Β - Carla Bosch
Carla Boschβs journey into bold color began in 1976 in Pretoria, South Africaβs capital. The cityβs annual carpet of purple jacaranda blossoms undoubtedly inspired the vibrant impressionism that would captivate art enthusiasts worldwide years later. Although she studied interior design, her major artistic talent would not be denied. βI grew up in a very creative environment,β she says. βMy dad was a pharmacist by day and an artist by night. His love for life and all things beautiful spilled over.β
By 1998, with her giving personality shining through in her liberal use of bright colors, the warmth and cheerfulness of her landscapes, coastal, and street scenes caught the eye of top South African art galleries. Local and international collectors, both casual and seasoned, began to acquire her work.
It was only a matter of time before her talent was recognized and embraced on the international stage. Carla loves painting en plein air, but is equally at home in her studio, where she enjoys creating her impression of the subject maPer without referencing pictures too much. She mostly paints with professional acrylics on stretched canvas. Other artists have recognized Carlaβs talent and sought her guidance. She oο¬ers workshops to both established artists and aspiring novices alike.
Carlaβs accomplishments are remarkable. Visit the top-tier plein air events in the United States, and youβre likely to find her there. Her art has also made its way into museum collections. She has won numerous international awards and is represented by leading galleries in South Africa, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States, where she now resides.
